About Butterfly Creek winery

Set on 200 acres adjoining the Sierra Foothills, yet only 45 minutes driving time from the borders of Yosemite National Park, Butterfly Creek Winery offers an impressive array of award winning wines. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, White Merlot, Zinfandel, Campfire Red, and Chardonnay fills bottles for the discerning enthusiast.

Continuing the Gerken family traditions since arriving in Mariposa in 1972, Bob and Darlene Gerken have been developing their family vineyards by taking advantage of the spring water, clean climate, and rich Sierra Nevada soil that provide the perfect setting for the premium wines that Butterfly Creek Winery produces.

Driving directions

From the town center of Mariposa, CA: Take Highway 140 toward Yosemite, approximately 5 miles. Turn right onto Triangle Rd., drive a further 5 miles. You'll see our sign, make a right turn and follow the signs - the road will lead down into the winery.

From Oakhurst: Take Highway 49 (toward Mariposa) for about 15 miles. Make a right turn onto Triangle Road. Stay on Triangle Road for about 7 miles. You'll see our sign, make a left turn and follow the signs - the road will lead down into the winery.
