Farm and Ranch Tour
Watch for our 2022 tour
Coulterville/North County
October 15, 2021

We are planning another Farm and Ranch Tour, this time in the Coulterville area. We had tentatively planned tours in 2020 and 2021 as well, but had to cancel due to rising Covid numbers. We are optimistic this time around, although we will follow appropriate public health guidelines.

In the mean time, to get a flavor of what the tour is all about, please check the pages from the 2017 tour.

Mariposa County invites you to enjoy the bounty of our beautiful foothills! Experience the diversity of California's Sierra Foothills near Yosemite National Park!

Each location will not only showcase their own unique agricultural operations, but vendors and artists will be set up as well!

Locations for the 2017 Tour

Raw Roots Farm

Raw Roots Farm is a small, 3-acre fruit and vegetable farm located in Catheys Valley. The Glikins sustainably manage this ecologically focused, naturally grown, no-till farm. The farm produces over 100 varieties of produce to support 45 members for their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), and then many more families through farmer's markets and house sales.

JJ's Garden

JJ Gillespie has been gardening for many years in Mariposa County and is now downsizing and experimenting with container gardening. She uses various types of raised beds, including a large pine tree that was used for the sides of a raised bed while chippings from the same tree were added to the growing medium as organic material to improve it.

The winery offers a beautiful setting to enjoy tasting, picnicking in the shade of the oaks, playing bocci ball, and seeing firsthand the results of the 2017 harvest. Tasting in the barrel room offers a unique and personal experience.
